  2. Explain the object of the activity, "The Bible tells us that God made Adam from the ground, dirt and clay. Can I make a man out of this clay?"
  3. After the children have been able to work with the clay for a few minutes, ask them, "Were you able to make a man out of your clay? If you had six days, would you be able to make a man from your clay?" Explain that God was able to make Adam from clay and Eve from Adam's rib on the sixth day because He is all-powerful.
  4. Read aloud Genesis 2:4-25 to reinforce the lesson.

Activity Preparation:

  • Print a bulletin page for each team
  • Pencil for each team
  • Small prizes for the winning team members

Activity Directions:

  1. Divide the class into two teams.
  2. Distribute a pencil and the activity page to each team.
  3. Explain the object of the game, "The goal is to be the first team to solve their puzzle and make a key for each symbol." Assign one team the "How did God form Adam?" puzzle and the other team the "How did God form Eve?" puzzle.
  4. Yell, "GO!" and wait for the first team to finish. Check that the winning team correctly solved the puzzle and made a key showing the letters:
    • A for the apple
    • B for the bird (only needed for the Eve puzzle)
    • D for the drum
    • E for the elephant
    • F for the flower
    • H for the hat (only needed for the Adam puzzle)
    • I for the ice cream cone (only needed for the Eve puzzle)
    • M for the mouse
    • N for the nest (only needed for the Eve puzzle)
    • O for the octopus
    • R for the rainbow
    • S for the socks
    • T for the tent
    • U for the umbrella
  5. Give each winning team member a small prize.
  6. Read aloud Genesis 2:4-25 to reinforce the lesson.
